Ss Peter and Paul’s was founded in 1920 by Blessed Bishop martyr Nykyta Budka, the first Ukrainian Greek Catholic bishop in Canada. The parish built and opened its first church building in July 1922 on the site where it sits today. The Church Hall was constructed in 1957. It was the social hub of the Parish and was used extensively for many activities, clubs, and celebrations. By the late 1960s Ss Peter and Paul’s required a new church building so a new church was constructed, and a few years later the parish built a new rectory. The Ukrainian Catholic Bishop for Alberta, Bishop Neil Savaryn, Eparch of Edmonton, blessed the new church which was opened in 1969. We would love to have you join us for our Sunday Divine Liturgy, all are welcome. What ever your beliefs, spiritually or background we invite all to come and experience the beauty, mystery, reverence and splendour that is the Divine Liturgy. The sights, smell and sound of the Divine Liturgy will transport you back to the earliest days of Christian worship. And, if you are Catholic it fulfills your Sunday obligation. Our incredible parish family will greet you as you arrive into the church building and will help you follow along in the service and make sure you feel welcome and at home with us - don't worry you do not need to know any Ukrainian our service is predominantly English.
